Racing Applications of RMI-25
RMI-25 Cooling System Treatment has been used in racing of all types. It is safe for the environment and the additive mixture provides needed protection and system maintenance that will keep a high performance engine running efficiently on all cylinders. The following are some key points concerning the use of RMI-25 in motorsports:
Many racetracks do not think very highly of crashes that may occur resulting in the spewing of a highly toxic contaminated anti-freeze coolant mixture on the raceway. It increases clean-up costs and the opportunity for fines from environmental agencies.
Since it is non-toxic and biodegradable, it can be used in the cooling systems of virtually every type of racing vehicle. It should be used in situations where there is a potential of damaging sensitive ecological environments, such as rally or off-road racing.
Though RMI-25 is compatible with most types* of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol ("anti-freeze"), the only time it should not be considered in racing without using anti-freeze is when there might be a danger of extremely cold weather, which may damage the engine. Most racing situations do not need the freeze protection that anti-freeze provides!
One of the ingredients in the formulation of RMI-25 is a "surfactant." Surfactants are more commonly referred to as "Water Wetters", which are common water additives in racing vehicle cooling systems that make water more effective.
Other components include rust and oxidation inhibitors that protect the system from deposits that would otherwise attack the system, which could lead to costly part failures.
It keeps the entire cooling system clean reducing the possibility of hot spots in the engine, which can hinder performance and rob an engine of horsepower.
Anti-freeze actually reduces water's natural ability to act as a coolant, which is why most anti-freeze mixes call for 50/50 with water. Anything over that reduces the cooling system's efficiency!
There are many racing classes that use RMI-25. A few of these are Sprint Cars, Dragsters, Stock Cars, and various SCCA cars. They do not use anti-freeze unless competing in a climate in which the temperature drops down below freezing. Otherwise, RMI-25 is added to the cooling system as a "Water Wetter" to increase the cooling ability of the water within the cooling system.
Compared to the "other" leading brand of cooling system treatment, RMI-25 just plain out performs the competition, and it is non-toxic and biodegradable! Just look at the labels of other products, including branded store labels and see for yourself!
"If it is water cooled, it needs RMI-25!"
